Job Title:Associate Director of Education (Leadership) - AISL Harrow SchoolsLine Manager:CEdO (Chief Education Officer)Purpose of RoleAs a key member of the AISL Education Team, the Associate Director of Education (Leadership) will have responsibility for: (i)Promoting the development of leaders, leadership and associated structures across (ii)Ensuring all pupils have access to structured and impactful opportunities for the development of the values, character and skills that enable leadership (iii)Enabling and sustaining effective partnerships with other functions within AISL, higher education institutions and the business sector to provide opportunities for pupils and staff across AISL Harrow Schools The areas of responsibility listed above will be achieved by leading and developing world class leadership development and career development programmes which, will articulate with Group succession planning and talent development strategy. Furthermore, it will be necessary to support in establishing the AISL Harrow Diploma as a ****work for developing the values, character and skills that underpin student leadership. Both oif the previous areas of responsibility will require establishing and managing partnerships with AISL functions, higher education institutions and the business sector. The role will also involve:•Providing guidance and support to AISL Harrow School teams in establishing rigour in curriculum, assessment and pedagogy in line with the AISL Harrow Diploma•Support the coordination and successful delivery of the pupil pathways through:oCurriculum development oQuality of teachingoStudent outcomes oTraining and development of school-based staffoSupporting with ****uation and development in the performance of AISL Harrow Schools •Establishing and sustaining partnerships with AISL function, higher education institutions and businesses that provide learning and development opportunities for pupils Duties and Responsibilities Development of Leaders, Leadership and Associated Structures •Work directly with the CEdO and Director of Education to implement the AISL Leadership ****work across the AISL Harrow Schools•Work with Senior Leaders to ****uate, monitor and develop individual leaders and school leadership•Work with Group HR in the development and implementation of performance development of school leaders•Develop peer-mentoring and coaching mechanisms for school leaders•Further develop school based and Group-wide succession planning mechanisms•Support and ****uate recruitment strategy and procedure for school leaders•Collate, report and analyse Group level data for leaders, leadership and associated structures•Coordinate a Group approach to thought-leadership on the AISL Harrow identity for ‘educational leadership’ and deepen our brand identity through media exposurePromoting Pupil Leadership•Work with the Director of Education to support school teams to understand philosophy that underpins the AISL Harrow Diploma and oversee, support and ****uate its implementation in AISL Harrow Schools •Establish structured opportunities for pupil leadership development within and across all schools, through the Diploma and beyond•Lead on the development of 'service’ as an active core component of leadership within and across schools (through the Diploma and beyond)•Establish and lead the AISL Harrow Diploma network across the Group•Arrange an annual (or biannual) pupil leadership conference for senior pupil leaders across the schools•Establish a programme for internships and work placements for Senior School and Sixth-form pupils in AISL Harrow Schools •Effective management of existing partnerships with higher education institutions and the business sector to enhance pupil opportunities for leadership •Establish a plan for and to secure effective communication channels and recognition by world leading universitiesExternal partnerships•Identify and build partnerships with higher education institutions that provide enhanced learning and development opportunities for pupils, in support of the AISL Harrow Diploma and pupil leadership•Identify and build partnerships with businesses to provide enhanced learning and development opportunities for pupils, in support of the AISL Harrow Diploma and pupil leadership•Work directly with the AISL Academy, oversee, coordinate, extend, promote, and lead on the delivery of, all internal and external partner-devised AA leadership programs•Work the AISL Foundation on AISL IOH Alumni, pupil scholarships and talent award initiatives•Oversee the arrangement of an AISL annual international leadership conference (HMC or other)Development of curriculum, teaching and assessment•To work closely with the Director of Education to establishing and understanding of the AISL Harrow Diploma and contribute to its implementation in support of pupil leadership •To work with school leaders and teaching in understanding and implementing the AISL Harrow Diploma in support of pupil leadership•To set up shared resources for leaders and teachers to strengthen confidence and expertise in delivering on the AISL Harrow Diploma•To keep all AISL Harrow Schools updated with current practice and provide relevant curriculum updates on the delivery of the AISL Harrow Diploma•To support the AISL Education Team with specific group-wide initiatives across AISL Harrow schools.•To remain up-to-date and duly formulate policies in response to the new movements, trends and achievements of IGCSE, A Level, DSE and IB Diploma•Ensure curriculum pathways provide a rich Higher Education preparation and support in the implementation of the AISL Harrow Diploma across AISL China Schools •To constantly innovate in pedagogical practice using research methods and bringing extensive expertise from previous settings to improve the delivery of the AISL Harrow Diploma and university guidance•To lead, establish, cascade and **** creative, responsive and effective approaches to learning and teaching in a bilingual context.•To support school self-****uation and AISL Quality Assurance ****work.•To help schools develop robust data management systems which allow quantitative and qualitative ****uation of school and group level data to inform knowledge of the group’s performance as well as that of its constituent schools’ strengths and areas for development and to use this data to drive continued improvement.•To support AISL systems give real-time understanding of performance, provide assurance on outcomes and the quality and consistency of practice, and allow for rapid and targeted response to emerging concerns.Communication Coordination •To be responsible for coordinating communication between the Education Team and school leadersExternal Engagement•To be a compelling ambassador for AISL and play a key role in building the organisation’s reputationAISL
