上海温哥华电影学院是一所中外合作培养影视及娱乐人才的一年制非学历高等教育学院。合作双方为国家重点高校上海大学和加拿大颇具规模的娱乐艺术人才培训学校温哥华电影学院。2014年6月15日，上海大学与加拿大温哥华电影学院在上海国际电影节上召开新闻发布会，联合宣布正式成立上海温哥华电影学院。学院由上海市政府指导建立，上海市文广局、市教委、闸北区政府与上海大学均为理事单位。上海温哥华电影学院首批引进温哥华电影学院全日制一年期的“电影制作、3d动画与视觉效果、视觉媒体声音设计、影视化装设计”4个专业，2015年将引进“影视表演”和“游戏设计”专业。以后还会陆续引进“影视剧作、娱乐产业管理、经典动画”等专业。学院实行全英文教学。未来，学院还会针对中国市场开发适和的长短期课程，并定期对已有课程进行更新。办学前三年，学院80%师资来自北美，均为拥有丰富产业经验和教学经验的业界翘楚。除了一流的国际化师资外，学院还配有一流的教学设备，实行高强度高密度沉浸式实践教学，以培养符合国际电影工业标准的高端人才。除了原汁原味引进教学体系外，围绕上海温哥华电影学院，市政府还作为重点工程，同步打造“环上海大学国际影视产业园区”。其中上海大学延长路校区作为核心区，规划建设了电影、电视、美术、创意设计4所艺术类学院，影视制作、作品展示、影视云智慧服务3大平台，中国艺术研究院上海分院、中国社科院上海发展研究院2个研究机构，以及大学科技园（影视文化主题）的“4321”计划，吸引一批政府服务、内容创作、渠道发行、后期制作、教育培训、文化金融、法律服务类的优质资源和机构向园区集中，打造世界一流的影视教育和影视产业基地。
