USA based manufacturing of mechanical equipment seeks a mechanical process engineer for plants located in Shanghai and Ningbo.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility is to develop, monitor and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and workflow. Goals include continuous improvement, cost reduction and optimizing efficiency.
•Develop work instructions, workmanship standards and process documentation and ensuring compliance.
•Continuous improvement for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings
•Investigate operational problems affecting production; prepare actions plans
•Work with production planner to ensure products have correct drawings, BOM’s and routings
•Manage manufacturing documentation
•Establish SOP’s and workmanship standards
•Provide manufacturing data for performance measurement.
•Organize and manage cross functional continuous improvement programs
•Work with engineering on design for excellence programs:
oDesign for cost
oDesign for quality and consistency
oDesign for manufacturability
oDesign for assembly
•Work with other departments to determine estimated cost, production time and cost reduction
•Lead cooperation efforts with suppliers on manufacturing process and quality improvement
Requirements:
•BS in manufacturing engineering
•8+ year’s work experience
•Proven track record in manufacturing environment for durable equipment
•Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic equipment
•Lean manufacturing, preferably six sigma and ISO methodology
•Knowledge on using ERP systems as an important tool in driving improvement programs
