Experimental Laboratory Manager - Your Future Position?

As an Experimental Laboratory Manager in our Fragrance Division, you will ensure timely compounding and delivery of perfumer oils and hydro-alcoholic solutions to internal customers and contribute to developing plans and improving the operational efficiency and physical infrastructure, in order to maintain effective operation of the lab, according to business objectives and EH&S policies. In this exciting role you will:

Laboratory Operations
•Maintain efficient continual operation of automated compounding systems and other laboratory equipment
•Interface with appropriate resources (internal & external) to secure prompt resolution of technical and mechanical issues associated with lab systems and equipment
•Communicate with Perfumery, Evaluation, and Sales on the status of on-going projects
•Prioritize robotic and manual demand accordingly
•Manage raw materials and disposable supply inventory to support lab opera-tions
•Ensure quality and quantity of raw material stock, and maintains inventory management systems (i.e. ARI, BPCS)
•Coordinate with other sites for delivery of samples, raw materials, and other supplies
•Coordinate with Quality Control on processing Type requests needed to sup-port Sample Lab and Production
•Oversee disposal of melange waste

Implementation & Support
•Provide operational support for the commercial management team to drive process improvements using data analysis and metrics
•Participate in site specific continuous improvement initiatives, process re-engineering, and new system implementations

People Management
•Assign personnel and resources as needed to meet deadlines established by internal customers
•Compile, distribute, and review KPI reports with appropriate personnel

Environmental Health & Safety
•Maintain a safe, clean and orderly laboratory environment in accordance with EHS guidelines

Your professional profile includes:
•Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering or similar subject
•Minimum 3 years of related fragrance industry experience, preferably in a creative fragrance lab
•Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
•Experience in planning and prioritizing requests from multiple sources of demand
•Understanding of operation of automated compounding equipment and lab management information systems
•Basic mechanical skills and diagnostic aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical and information systems
•Experience in entering/retrieving data from PC-based systems, and profi-ciency in PC-based spreadsheet, database, and query applications
•Strong communication skills
•Strong analytical skills
•Chemistry knowledge
•People Management skills
•Good knowledge of EHS guidelines, good laboratory practice and safe han-dling of chemicals
